How to Create Trending Bath Product Textures – Cosmetic Silicone Oil Manufacturer

This feature focuses on surfactants and emulsifiers that are particularly relevant for bathroom personal care.

A popular theme at SCS Formulate 2016, the UK’s cosmetic ingredients trade event, was creating product texture. We gave a presentation titled “Inspiring Textures” and introduced oil-in-water (o/w) emulsions that convert into water-in-oil (w/o) emulsions when applied to the skin, Forms a lipophilic waterproof layer.

These emulsions are called switch oil phase (SWOP) emulsions and consist of polyglyceryl 2-dipolyhydroxystearate as w/o emulsifier, a mixture of lauryl glucoside and sodium lauryl glucose carboxylate as anionic surfactant and poly Sodium acrylate acts as a stabilizer in the polymer mixture.

The company’s textural concept includes a slim gel-cream that turns into an oil. A gel-cream that transforms into a fresh, velvety lotion upon application; and a cream-to-cream product. This combines the foaming properties of Plantapon LGC Sorb (INCI: Sodium Lauryl Glucose Carboxylate, Lauryl Glucoside) with the polymeric emulsifier Tinovis GTC-UP (INCI: Ethylene Acrylate/Behenylbenzoate- 25) combined with the levitation capabilities. Use xanthan gum to stabilize the texture of the soufflé.
