Performance characteristics of cast polyurethane elastomers (CPUs)
Cast polyurethane elastomer, or CPU, is a kind of polyurethane elastomer. It has good overall performance and is a very widely used variety of polyurethane elastomer, while functional additives such as anti-yellowing agents have important applications in polyurethane elastomer products according to different application quality requirements. The article summarizes the performance characteristics of cast polyurethane elastomer (CPU).

First, the processing method is simple and convenient, and it is easy to produce automatically and continuously. In the production process of cast polyurethane elastomer, the raw materials are all liquid, and they are measured, mixed and reacted in the liquid state until they are poured into the mold, which is conducive to mechanized continuous production.

Second, cast polyurethane elastomer (CPU) has good wear resistance, commonly known as “wear-resistant rubber”. According to the laboratory measurement of its abrasion performance, it is 3-5 times higher than ordinary natural rubber, and its abrasion resistance is even 10 times higher than that of ordinary rubber under the condition of wet wear with certain liquid. Its high wear resistance can not only be used as ordinary rubber for the manufacture of anti-wear parts, but also can replace the traditional metal materials to a certain extent. Its good abrasion resistance, cushioning, impact resistance, fatigue resistance, corrosion resistance, low noise and other properties are a complement to traditional metal.

Third, the cast polyurethane elastomer (CPU) has a wide range of hardness variation (Shore A20-Shore D80), and can maintain good elasticity in the case of high hardness, which is difficult to have the performance of ordinary plastics and other materials.

Fourth, oxygen resistance, ozone resistance performance outstanding mechanical and mechanical properties. The tensile strength of ordinary natural rubber, neoprene and other materials are generally lower than 30Mps, but the tensile strength of cast polyurethane elastomer is usually greater than 40Mps, tear resistance is generally much higher than ordinary rubber materials.

Fifth, superior oil resistance; oxygen resistance, ozone resistance performance is outstanding. The oil resistance of polyester polyurethane can be similar to that of nitrile rubber, which has the best oil resistance in traditional rubber, and is better than natural neoprene and other common rubber.

Sixth, high load capacity. Cast polyurethane elastomer (CPU) prepared by the punching elastic components, cushioning components of high load-bearing capacity, the use of the process will not appear cracking; while ordinary rubber exists in the high load-bearing capacity of the load will appear cracking and other defects.
