The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held a symposium on the healthy development of the coal-to-ethylene glycol industry

Recently, in order to enhance the interaction between coal-to-ethylene glycol companies and polyester fiber companies, they have worked together to solve coal-to-ethylene glycol quality problems and promote the healthy development of the coal-to-ethylene glycol industry. The Raw Materials Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology held a symposium on promoting the healthy development of the coal-to-ethylene glycol industry in Beijing.

At the meeting, the coal-to-ethylene glycol enterprise introduced its economic operation in 2018, especially in recent years. The work carried out and the results achieved in improving the quality of coal-to-ethylene glycol products were reviewed, and relevant suggestions were put forward to promote the healthy development of the industry. The polyester fiber company introduced its use of coal-to-ethylene glycol, especially the impact of coal-to-ethylene glycol on the quality of polyester fiber products. Dalian Commodity Exchange introduced the listing status of ethylene glycol futures and the considerations for establishing relevant impurity indicators when formulating ethylene glycol contracts.

The meeting believed that the healthy development of the coal-to-ethylene glycol industry is of practical significance for promoting the diversification of ethylene glycol raw materials , solving the quality problems of coal-to-ethylene glycol and being widely used in downstream polyester fiber products is the key to achieving sustainable development of the coal-to-ethylene glycol industry. China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation and China Chemical Fiber Industry Association should jointly promote the establishment of an upstream and downstream cooperation research mechanism, focusing on solving the quality differences between coal-based ethylene glycol and petroleum-based ethylene glycol.
